The Costa del Sol
The Costa del Sol is situated between the Costa de la Luz and the Costa Tropical. The Costa del Sol; literally, “Coast of the Sun” or “Sun Coast”) basking in more than 300 days of sunshine each year. The Costa del Sol is a region of Andalusia in the south of Spain with fabulous towns and cities along the coastline of the Province of Málaga.
The Costa del Sol stretches over 300 kilometers from the Strait’s of Gibraltar to the east to the province of Granada, where it borders the Costa Tropical (Tropical Coast). The vast majority of the Costa del Sol, however, belongs to the province of Malaga. In Malaga, there is also the most important airport of the region, and the beautiful beaches just outside the capital are the best known and most popular of the entire coast.
Formerly made up only of a series of small fishing settlements, steeped in History, beautiful white painted villages, the sparkling crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean and pristine world class golf courses are just some of the attractions on offer today in this world-renowned tourist destination.
